About Laura
I am a freshman at Stony Brook University, studying psychology B.S. I was a tutor for a first-grade boy last year in English comprehension and I have been a teacher for the first and second grades in Mwanza, Tanzania for a month (during the summer of 2021).

I typically see what the student is struggling with and focus on teaching them the subjects, then testing them to see if their understanding has improved. I would go through the problems first and then have them go through the problems with some help in order to see where their struggle is. I can also help them with their homework. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have a variety of children that I have taught and want to focus on the child's understanding of what they are doing.
