About Noah

With over 8 years of teaching experience, I offer guitar and bass guitar lessons for students of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners through to advanced players. I currently work as a music teacher across a number of well-regarded schools in Sydney, and alongside teaching, I am a current professional guitarist and bassist, working as a session musician and performing regularly across Sydney. I have performed at venues inccluding the Sydney Opera House and The Factory Theatre, and also work as an ensemble conductor, giving me extensive experience in both individual musicianship and working within larger groups.

I have a studio based in Turramurra, and am also happy to travel to surrounding suburbs, feel free to reach out with and check what works best for you.

Lessons are available in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions, depending on the student's experience, goals and availability. I believe lessons should be both educational and enjoyable, so I make an effort to incorporate each student's musical interests and goals into their learning. Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, develop your improvisation, prepare for performances and/or examinations, or simply become a more confident musician, lessons are tailored to what you want to achieve. At the same time, I make sure to build a strong foundation in technique, musicianship and accessible theory, providing students with a comprehensive education that helps them continue developing independently.

About the lesson

I am thoroughly experienced in both Electric and Acoustic guitar, and can comfortably guide students through Fingerstyle, Blues, Contemporary, RNB, Rock, Fusion and Progressive genres. I am also an experienced Bass Guitar player, and can guide students through similar material while including bass-specific techniques such as Slap.

I pride myself on being able to adapt and structure lessons around each student’s experience, interests and goals. As a student myself, I found that my progress was closely tied to my relationship with my instrument and how engaged I felt with my learning. The enthusiasm and encouragement of my own teachers played a huge role in keeping me motivated to practice, and by sharing their passion, I gained a deeper enjoyment for my playing which significantly enhanced by abilities.

This has really shaped the way I teach. I strongly believe that genuine engagement and passion are just as important as technical development, where students are far more likely to progress when they enjoy what they are learning and feel personally invested in their playing. I aim to create a supportive, energetic and collaborative environment where students can develop their skills while also building a genuine connection with their instrument. I’ve been fortunate to have many students stay and achieve significant progress through this approach, and I take great pride in helping students build the confidence and motivation to keep improving.
