About Tanishka
I hold a doctorate from the University of Canberra and have been tutoring for nearly 10 years. My tutoring journey began when I was in Year 11, when I volunteered to teach younger students, and I have continued teaching and mentoring students ever since.
Over the years, I have worked with students from different academic backgrounds and levels of confidence, from beginners who needed extra support to more advanced students aiming to strengthen their understanding. My aim has always been to make difficult concepts easier to approach, help students build confidence, and support them in achieving strong academic outcomes.
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to work closely with students, understand how they think, and guide them in a way that suits their individual learning style.

I design my lessons according to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. My approach is to first help students understand the underlying theory clearly, using real-life examples that may be fun, practical, or serious depending on the topic. I like connecting book knowledge with everyday situations so that concepts feel less abstract and easier to remember.
Once the theory is clear, we will look at its practical implications and how it applies to problem-solving. I usually solve a few questions with the student, explain different ways to approach the same problem, and point out common mistakes. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students through the reasoning process so they can build confidence and learn how to think independently.

I know Tanishka from the University of Canberra, where she supported our class as a tutor. What I appreciated most was how she connected theory with practical examples, making technical topics easier to relate to. In lab sessions, she helped us understand not only what to do, but why we were doing it. She was approachable and always willing to explain things clearly. I would recommend her as a tutor because she genuinely cares about helping students learn.
