About Chris

Hi! I’m Chris, and I’m here to help you feel confident and prepared for the IELTS exam—whether you’re aiming for a high band score for school, immigration, or professional reasons. I understand how overwhelming standardized tests can feel, especially when English isn’t your first language. That’s why my approach is built on patience, clarity, and encouragement. As someone who has taken language exams myself, both academic and general, I know what it’s like to feel unsure—and I also know how empowering it feels to improve step by step. My tutoring style is friendly and supportive, but also focused and structured. I’ll help you understand exactly how the IELTS works, teach you smart test strategies, and give you the tools you need to succeed. I work with learners of all levels, and I specialize in helping students who feel nervous or stuck regain their confidence. Together, we’ll build your skills, practice real test questions, and track your progress toward your goals. I would be thrilled to support you on your IELTS journey. Let’s get started! :)

About the lesson

As an IELTS tutor, my approach is supportive, personalized, and rooted in real test experience. I help students feel more confident in their speaking, reading, and writing skills while guiding them toward a stronger IELTS band score—step by step and without judgment.

I believe the key to success in IELTS is not just learning English, but understanding how the test works and building strategies that work for each student. I focus on: Building familiarity with IELTS question types (especially in reading and speaking); Practicing test strategies, like skimming, scanning, and time management; Improving fluency and confidence in speaking through real-time conversation; Boosting vocabulary and structure in writing tasks using practical models and feedback; Creating a calm, encouraging space so one feels safe making mistakes.

Because I’ve taken language tests myself, I know how stressful they can feel—and I bring empathy and structure to every session.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
--Quick Warm-Up & Review (5–10 min) – Go over one's recent practice, review one weak point
--Main Skill Focus (30–35 min) – work on one core skill (e.g., reading strategies, speaking fluency, or writing structure), using real or adapted IELTS materials
--Timed Practice & Feedback (10–15 min) – Simulate a test question and review your performance together
--Wrap-Up (5 min) – Review key takeaways + homework or self-study plan

Supportive IELTS tutor with firsthand test experience helps improve all four skills.
