About Cecilia Raquel
I am a dedicated ELA and ESL educator with over ten years of experience helping students in grades K–8 grow as confident readers and writers. I believe learning works best when students feel supported, understood, and encouraged, and I take a patient, personalized approach to every lesson. My experience includes classroom teaching, one-on-one tutoring, and reading intervention, allowing me to meet students where they are and help them move forward with confidence. My approach as a tutor is structured, supportive, and highly responsive to each learner’s needs. A typical lesson begins with a brief review, followed by targeted instruction on a specific skill (such as decoding, reading comprehension, writing structure, or language development), guided practice together, and independent practice with feedback.
What sets me apart is my ability to quickly identify skill gaps and adapt instruction in real time, drawing on over 10 years of experience teaching ELA and ESL. I specialize in helping students build strong foundations in reading, writing, phonics, spelling, and comprehension—especially those who need extra structure or confidence. My lessons are designed for children in grades K–8, including native English speakers, English language learners, and students who benefit from reading intervention or individualized support.
