In 2007, was made an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) 'for services to community development through social research and programs aimed at assisting marginalized young people and offenders and to the mental health sector in Australia'.

Plus national Board membership of Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) and Catholic Social Services Australia (CSSA).
Many years of experience dealing with, at a senior level, State and Federal Government politicians and bureaucrats.
Extensive experience with State and National Media and a former member of the ABC National Advisory Council.
