About Tim

I am an enthusiastic and passionate mathematics, physics and engineering tutor. T have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) (Hons.) and graduated with Class I Honours. I am a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

I have been tutoring a variety of students of varying education levels for over 7 years. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring students and achieve a personal sense of satisfaction from providing additional assistance to those that need it. I find value in witnessing first-hand a student's gratitude and pride when they finally understand a topic or achieve the grade they have been chasing.

I have a strong focus in tutoring mathematics, physics and engineering to primarily high-school level students.

About the lesson

A typical individual tutoring session generally includes reviewing and expanding on content learnt in previous sessions or school class work, completing homework, organizing and preparing for exams, or working on assignments. The needs of the student are the number one priority of the session. My sessions are 45mins in length.

My content is fully aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the QCAA. I know what topics should be covered week-to-week and we know what's coming next. I have access to an abundant of content and are able to stay on track and ensure the student is learning what they need to.

I use an interactive whiteboard which allows both the tutor and the student to work on problems simultaneously. I can easily PDF and email through any notes that were written down in the session (refer attached photos). I find it much easier to share PowerPoints and videos for whichever topic that is being covered. Students take to it very well and end up enjoying the experience.
