About Emma
I am a freshman at Brown University, and before this I attended the American School in London (ASL). During my last two years at ASL, I tutored one secondary school student in mathematics and three different students in AP Physics (this is the American equivalent of AS level physics). The secondary school student was struggling at first, but in the end got an A in his math class. The AP Physics exam is scored out of 5. Two of my students received a 5 on the exam (the highest possible score) and one received a 4. I was very proud of these students as only 4.1% of people who took this exam got a 5.

I am studying Mechanical Engineering at Brown University in the United States, although I live in London so will be in London during June, July and August.
I am more than happy to help students of any level prior to University with math or physics.
Since I am in London during the summer months, I am happy to give lessons in math or physics, as frequent or intensive as you like.
This is great for a range of students. This can be for students who are struggling with math or physics to get a large boost during the holiday. I can also challenge students who love math and physics with difficult problems and concepts to further their skills and knowledge.
As a teacher, I thoroughly enjoy explaining concepts while drawing and writing notes on paper, as well as prompting students to make mathematical or physical connections on their own. When tutoring students, I tend to change my teaching methods to what works best for them: giving visual, auditory and tactile explanations.

Emma is extraordinarily well qualified to be a Superprof teacher for three reasons:
(1) Absolutely will not be confused by any of the course material she chooses to teach. Emma is a fast learner and talented at STEM fields. I go to class with Emma at Brown University, a school known for selective admissions and challenging science courses. Despite the competitive and difficult nature of the straight STEM courses she is taking (such as the advanced track of Physics, and the engineering level of Multivariable Calculus), Emma has been at the top of the class for nearly all of her classes (she received the highest mark in the entire class for both courses I talked about above).
(2) Isn't a book worm that doesn't know how to teach. I have had first hand experience in high school of being on the receiving end of an extremely smart teacher who has absolutely no idea how to teach. Emma is not one of these people. After math class I would frequently be confused by some of the course material that was covered, so I would often ask Emma for help. She not only clearly explained the material better, in some cases, than the professor, but also tailored the speed to my learning speed; she did not teach too fast or too slow.
(3) Is compassionate, trustworthy, and altruistic. Emma helps people not for personal gain, but because she genuinely wants to see other people succeed. She has gone through many hardships in learning some material in high school that she wasn't very good at, so she knows how hard it can be to learn things the first time around. I think this fact makes her into a very compassionate teacher who is able to empathize with the students and devote herself to teaching kids in a position that, just a years ago, she was in herself.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Emma to be a teacher for Superprof. Any questions can be answered at zhaoyong_zheng@brown.edu .View more recommendations
