About Oliver
I have been tutoring as a full-time pursuit since 2017. I love how dynamic 1-2-1 sessions are, and seeing the quick progress of students is so inspiring. I find teaching very natural and can't imagine doing anything else! I am fully DBS-checked and can provide references on request. Outside of teaching, I love to read, walk our dog and am a massive music fan.

History is my main academic passion, and I infuse my lessons with a sense of curiosity and wonder about the past, whilst also rigorously focusing on the skills required to excel (essay writing, source analysis, etc). My lessons are catered to a student's individual needs, and provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their goals. My approach is heavily inspired by that of Oxford tutorials: rather than lecturing students, lessons are a conversation in which we work together on problems to help the student reach their potential. Typically 1 hour long, I can teach students from primary level all the way up to support students undertaking degree programmes. I have over 3,000 hours of teaching experience in a 1-2-1 context.
