About ATHIRA
I am a lawyer turned dancer fully invested in leaning, teaching and performing both Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattam.. Was and is still fortunate enough to learn from the best teachers. My dance profile is as follows : I have been doing mohiniyattam and Bharathnatyam for over 20 years now. Direct disciple of Guru Smt Sreedevi Rajan d/o Guru Kalamandalam Kalyani Kuttiyamma in Mohiniyattam and Smt. Indira Kadambi in Bharatnatyam. Along with Ba. LLB i completed BA Diploma in Bharatnatyam from Kalikaviri College of Fine Arts under Bharathidasan University. I am Doordarshan Grade Artist for both Mohiniyattam and Bharatnatyam. I have received Central Government Scholarship for Mohiniyattam. Regarding the classes i ll be following the traditional Kalyani Kuttiyamma school of Mohiniyattam and Kalakshetra bani in Bharatnatyam. Link to my performance is given below: (concealed information)
