About Akua

Hiya! My name is Akua and I am from London. I have been tutoring students in year 7 to year 11 for two years. I firmly believe that patience and having every lesson be fun is so important and I am always open to feedback! Outside of academia, I sing and play the piano in my free time, as well as learning more about politics and making music. Moreover, I bake from time to time, filling others with smiles! I really hope to help build the confidence my future and current students have in mathematics, which can be proven through their improved test results and creating their own methods for the content that they learn.

About the lesson

Research shows that with the right tutor, any child has the ability to learn and apply any topic. By starting to teach a KS3 student GCSE topics, the mind of that student can not only expand, but also take in new and challenging topics much easier. This can be applied at any academic level. I am a huge advocate for patience and respect between student and tutor; I always spend time to carefully explain a topic and setting homework to challenge them further and improve their long-term memory.

Akua is a really good tutor because of the way she explains each topic. She helped me move up from set 3 to set 1 and my test average went from around 20% to about 95%, I’m really grateful for how she has helped me.
