I’m a TY student who achieved a Distinction in my Maths mock. I’ve always found Maths straightforward, but more importantly I’m good at explaining why things work — not just what to do. I’ve helped classmates and family members improve their understanding, and I tailor how I explain things to suit how each student thinks.

I help Junior Cert students who are struggling with Maths. I can cover Algebra, Trigonometry, Factorisation, Geometry, Probability, and more. Lessons run for one hour, with flexibility to go longer if needed. My approach: I start by identifying the student’s weak areas and how they currently tackle problems. From there, we focus on one topic at a time — I explain not just what to do, but why, breaking it down step by step and highlighting the patterns needed to understand each question type. Once they’ve grasped the concept, I give them 2–3 questions to work through independently. I watch their reasoning and step in only if they’re stuck or going wrong. At the end of each lesson I leave them with a few key ideas to know solidly, and a short set of practice questions for homework.
