About Annika

Hi, I'm Annika, a Year 11 student at Suzanne Cory High School, one of Victoria's four selective entry schools. I am passionate about learning and enjoy helping younger students build both confidence and academic skills.

Having studied in a rigorous academic environment, I understand that every student learns differently. Through my own educational journey, I have experienced significant academic growth and developed effective study strategies that I now enjoy sharing with others. I believe that success comes not only from understanding content, but also from building confidence, resilience, and strong learning habits.

I strive to create a supportive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to help students strengthen their understanding, develop confidence in their abilities, and foster a positive attitude towards learning. Whether a student is looking to improve their skills, prepare for assessments, or gain extra support, I am committed to helping them reach their full potential.

About the lesson

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 11 student at Suzanne Cory High School, one of Victoria’s four selective entry schools. As a student who used to despise math when younger, I aim to make maths both understandable and enjoyable.

My Year 5–6 tutoring sessions are run in small groups of just 3–4 students, creating an environment that combines the personalised support of one-on-one tutoring with the motivation and collaboration of a classroom. Students benefit from hearing different ways of thinking, discussing problem-solving strategies with their peers, and building confidence by sharing ideas in a supportive setting. At the same time, the small group size ensures that every student receives individual attention and has the opportunity to ask questions whenever they need help.

As a student who has experienced significant academic growth through perseverance, effective study habits, and strong guidance, I understand that confidence is often the key to success. I focus not only on helping students improve their mathematical skills, but also on developing logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a positive attitude towards learning.

My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable, and prepared to tackle new challenges both in the classroom and beyond.
