About Lian
I’m a 16-year-old junior who goes to an IB school. So far I have volunteered for my school's tutoring system and helped 7+ students with different subjects. I’ve also tutored many of my cousins and some kids who couldn’t afford to pay a lot of money.

As a student who’s had multiple tutors for challenging subjects, I understand how frustrating it can be to struggle and not get it on your own. Sometimes, we can’t do everything alone. And that’s completely okay because there are people ready to help — like me! I truly understand what students need because I’ve been in their shoes. That’s why I always try to create a comfortable, student-to-student environment. I want my students to feel comfortable asking for help whenever they need it — just like someone did for me. My goal is to support students who feel the same way. I don’t want my students to depend on me, but to be able to depend on the fact that they’re not alone in their learning.
You might be thinking, why English?
English has always been my strongest subject. It became a way for me to express myself without having to say things out loud. But if I’m being honest, I wasn’t always good at it. English is actually my second language, and I struggled with it for a long time — until I had a tutor who patiently helped me understand it.
That experience taught me something important: just because you don’t understand a subject doesn’t mean you’re not good at it. Sometimes, you just need someone to explain it in a way that really clicks for you.
Everyone has something they enjoy and excel at. That’s why I want to help others with English, so it can become one of their strengths too.
