About Amenie
I am a second year student at the University of Cambridge, studying Spanish, German and Portuguese. I have loved languages ever since I started Spanish in Year 7, and that love has carried me on to my degree! I love learning about art and culture, and languages are the perfect subject to explore all these exciting topics- my lessons often deal with films, music, art and popular culture, so that we can explore the sometimes more difficult aspects of language learning, such as grammar and speaking, within fun and exciting contexts.
I have been tutuoring students since 2020, and plan on teaching internationally next year as I go on my year abroad- inspiring students to pursue languages is one of my passions, and I'm excited to help them discover how fun and rewarding languages can be!

I teach in both English and Spanish, using English to clearly explain and describe more difficult concepts to students.
Lessons typically last 1 hour, in which we will look over a piece of text and discuss it, picking up new vocabulary and using it in a sentence. Then we go in depth into a particular piece of grammar from the text with exercises and a focus on understanding the grammar before we put it into practice. Then we will speak about the text or theme of the text, utilising our new vocabulary and grammar.
I have tutored GCSE students since 2020, with my students achieving grade 8 and 9 in their exams. As I was recently in secondary education, I'm well acquainted with both GCSE and A Level syllabuses, and so our themes and texts will follow the topics prescribed for these exams.
I teach GCSE and A Level students in the UK. (Between school years 9-13!)
