About Tate
I have been studying music for 11 years, playing the piano and cello. I have been private tutoring A-level music for over two years, as well as giving lessons to beginner piano players.
At Oxford, I am taking a module in ‘Music and Pedagogy’, I have been studying the cognitive learning process in children and theories about how to optimise musical development in students.

I believe every student has the potential to succeed if they are familiar with what learning styles suit them most. Therefore, I am willing to adapt and change teaching methods dependent on the student’s needs. When teaching music, I believe music student’s benefit from having a basic foundation in music theory as it helps in every aspect of music such as performance, composition and essay writing.
If you’re looking for help with exams, I am confident in approaching exams in a tactical way whether it be a 30 mark essay or a 2 mark listening question. I am familiar with A Level and GCSE exam techniques, in order to tick the boxes that examiners look for.
