About Yelcy
I am a student of the Bachelor of Modern Languages at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá. Before that, I did a pre-university degree in psychology at the Pontificia Universidad Bolivariana while finishing my baccalaureate at the Institución Educafiva Comfacor de Montería. In addition, I obtained a sales technician for SENA products and services. I am currently part of a service unit of tutorials on writing academic texts at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Similarly, I am part of a virtual tutoring program for students from official schools carried out by a research laboratory of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

In the first instance, I meet the student to set academic goals (for what purposes do you want to learn the language, what is the time available for it, among others). Once the objectives are set, I present and organize the material according to the student's needs and preferences (podcasts, videos, readings, games, educational projects, etc.). Depending on the circumstances, I make use of different theories of language teaching and learning to bring the student closer to the awareness of their language learning and acquisition process. Likewise, I offer continuous feedback on the activities carried out. I would like to finally add that as a student, I see my students as academic peers to foster a safe and trusting learning space. This is a process that we both benefit from, so the recommendations are welcome.
