About Iana Mae
Hi I am Iana Peralta! I am from San Jose, California, and currently attend the University of California, Berkeley as a Data Science Major. I enjoy crocheting, eating yummy food, and watching TV. I am an older sister to two younger brothers, who I grew up tutoring throughout my entire life on all subjects they struggled in, such as math, english, and science. These experiences taught me patience and helped me learn how to effectively educate others. I am passionate about always doing what's right and serving others. I work with a kind and understanding heart to allow students to feel welcome and able to improve.

I am currently enrolled as a tutor for LessonPal, where I tutor students during hour-long sessions about various mathematics topics. I have always enjoyed helping others, especially in their education because I have always been passionate about that. When I tutor, I always ensure that the student feels comfortable learning and asking questions, as this is the best way to increase their skill set. I guide them toward the right path rather than answering all their problems for them. Through a nudge in the right direction, they are able to solve problems on their own even beyond the tutoring session.
