About Zane

I'm Zane, a 16-year-old student athlete with an A* in English Literature and an A in English Language at GCSE, achieved this year. I take tutoring seriously: every session is prepared with a clear goal, and I hold myself to the same standard of discipline and reliability that I bring to competitive basketball.
Being close in age to my students isn't just relatable — it means I understand the current exam specifications firsthand, having sat the same papers myself very recently. I'm committed, punctual, and genuinely invested in seeing my students improve, not just for a grade, but in how they think and write.

About the lesson

My Approach
I teach the way I wish I'd been taught — breaking essays and analysis down into clear, manageable steps instead of vague "just write more" advice. Rather than drilling theory, I focus on what actually moves the needle: strong technique, honest feedback, and plenty of practice on real exam-style questions, so progress feels tangible session to session.

A Typical Lesson
We start with a quick check-in on what's tricky right now, then work through a focused technique (like analyzing language in an unseen poem, or structuring a comparative essay). I'll model an example, then have you try it with guidance, and we finish by reviewing what worked and setting a small task for next time.

What Sets Me Apart
I'm 16 and just went through GCSEs myself — A* in English Literature, A in English Language. That means I know exactly what today's exams actually look like, what examiners reward, and where students my age tend to get stuck. I'm not repeating textbook advice; I'm sharing what genuinely worked for me, recently.
