About Charouth
Technique is often treated as a chore rather than a conversation. I teach because the ear should always dictate the hand. Growing up in Quebec, I learned through pickin parties where tunes moved from person to person. I have since shared this knowledge with 325 students.
My BA in Ethnomusicology from UCLA provides a formal lens for these traditional methods. I cover everything from basic power chords to complex modes and scales. Tuning and maintenance are also part of our regular check-ins.
Songwriting and reading tabs round out the technical work I provide. My method relies on musicality rather than rigid memorization.

Providing custom backing tracks helps you practice soloing effectively when you are at home alone. Ever feel like you need a band to make your practice feel real? I focus on steady pacing to ensure you grasp strumming patterns before moving to speed.
My background in traditional music informs how we use these custom tracks. Whether you are a working professional or a kid starting out, we keep the momentum high. Intermediate learners often struggle with the transition to complex scales, so I emphasize clean movement.
