About Soul
My name is Samsul, but most people call me Soul. I chose to teach SPM students because of my own experience during SPM, where I realized how difficult math and physics could be for many of my classmates. I had a knack for these subjects and enjoyed helping my peers understand tough concepts. Over time, I found that teaching gave me a deep sense of fulfillment, especially when I saw my friends improve their grades and confidence.
I decided to continue tutoring because I believe every student has the potential to excel with the right guidance. By making complex topics simpler and more approachable, I aim to help students not only pass their exams but also develop a lasting understanding of the subjects. Teaching SPM students allows me to share my passion and make a positive impact on their academic journey.

Lesson Plan: SPM Mathematics Class
**Topic:** Algebra – Solving Quadratic Equations
**Duration:** 1 Hour
**Level:** SPM (Secondary 5)
**Objective:**
- Understand and apply methods to solve quadratic equations.
- Use the quadratic formula, factorization, and completing the square effectively.
---
# **Lesson Structure:**
# **1. Introduction (10 minutes)**
- **Objective:** Provide an overview of quadratic equations.
- **Activity:**
- Briefly explain what a quadratic equation is (e.g., \( ax^2 + bx + c = 0 \)).
- Review basic terms: coefficients, variables, and constants.
- Discuss different methods of solving quadratic equations (factorization, completing the square, quadratic formula).
---
# **2. Main Lesson (40 minutes)**
**Part 1: Factorization Method (15 minutes)**
- **Objective:** Teach students how to solve quadratic equations by factorization.
- **Activity:**
- Explain factorization with an example: \( x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0 \).
- Guide students step-by-step through the process.
- Assign a few practice problems for students to try on their own.
**Part 2: Completing the Square (10 minutes)**
- **Objective:** Introduce the method of completing the square.
- **Activity:**
- Demonstrate completing the square with a quadratic like \( x^2 + 6x + 5 = 0 \).
- Show how to transform the equation into a perfect square form.
- Ask students to solve a similar problem.
**Part 3: Quadratic Formula (15 minutes)**
- **Objective:** Familiarize students with the quadratic formula.
- **Activity:**
- Introduce the quadratic formula: \( x = \frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}{2a} \).
- Solve an example together, breaking down each step.
- Provide students with practice problems to reinforce the formula's application.
---
# **3. Conclusion & Homework (10 minutes)**
- **Objective:** Review and solidify learning.
- **Activity:**
- Summarize key points of the lesson.
- Encourage students to ask questions about anything unclear.
- Assign a homework sheet with a variety of quadratic equations to solve using different methods.
---
**Materials Needed:**
- Whiteboard/blackboard
- Markers/chalk
- Handouts with sample problems
- Calculator (for quadratic formula problems)
---
**Assessment:**
- Evaluate students' understanding through class participation and practice problem accuracy.
- Review homework to assess individual progress.
**Homework:**
- Solve 5 quadratic equations using a mixture of factorization, completing the square, and the quadratic formu
