About Tamique

I’m a BSc student majoring in **Microbiology and Biochemistry**, with a strong passion for Science, Mathematics and helping learners reach their academic goals. I have studied Mathematics and Physics at university level and enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into simple, clear and understandable steps. I’m patient, supportive and committed to helping each learner build confidence and genuinely understand the work.

My goal is not only to teach you the content, but to make sure you genuinely understand it. I believe that knowing a subject and knowing how to teach it are two different things. A tutor can understand Mathematics or Physics extremely well, but every learner is different, and the same explanation will not work for everyone.

That is why my tutoring approach is patient, supportive and personalised. I take the time to understand where you are struggling and find different ways to explain a concept until it makes sense to you. Rather than simply giving you answers, I want you to understand the reasoning behind them so that you can eventually approach questions independently and confidently.

About the lesson

I understand that online learning can sometimes feel difficult or less personal, especially when you are struggling with a topic. I aim to make my lessons interactive, comfortable and engaging, so you feel free to ask questions, make mistakes and work through problems without feeling judged.

A typical lesson with me will involve:

* Identifying areas you find challenging
* Breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps
* Working through examples together
* Practising questions and problem-solving techniques
* Checking your understanding throughout the lesson
* Giving you opportunities to attempt questions independently
* Preparing you for tests and exams where needed

My lessons are aimed at CAPS learners, particularly students taking Mathematics from Grade 7–10 and Physics from Grade 10–11. I can also assist with CAPS and NSC examination preparation.

I am able to teach in English and I aim to create a learning environment that is encouraging, relaxed and focused on your individual needs.

Most importantly, I want you to leave each lesson feeling: Okay, I actually understand this now.
