About Nekeysha

Hi, I’m a second-year Accounting and Finance student at the University of Southampton. I’m someone who is patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoys helping others understand things in a clear and simple way. I decided to start tutoring because I know how frustrating it can feel when you don’t understand something in class, and I want to help students feel more confident and supported in their learning.
Through my experience as a student ambassador and interviewer, I have developed strong communication skills and I’m comfortable explaining ideas to different people in a way that makes sense to them. I’m also reliable and organised, so you can expect lessons to be well-prepared and focused.
I may not have formal tutoring experience yet, but I am committed to putting in the effort to support each student and help them improve at their own pace.

About the lesson

I offer personalised and supportive lessons in Maths for primary school students and English for both primary and secondary students. My main approach is helping students work through their school homework, as this allows me to identify exactly where they are struggling and support them in a way that matches what they are learning in class.

During lessons, I guide students step by step through their homework and explain concepts clearly so they fully understand, rather than just completing tasks. I also provide additional practice and simple explanations where needed to build their confidence over time.

A typical lesson lasts around 1 hour and is structured to be calm, focused, and easy to follow. I adapt each session based on the student’s pace and needs, whether they require more support, revision, or extra practice.

Although I do not have formal tutoring experience, I have strong communication skills from my role as a university student ambassador and interviewer, where I regularly explain ideas clearly and work with different people. I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students feel more confident in their learning.

My lessons are suitable for primary school students (Maths and English) and secondary school students (English), especially those who want extra support with schoolwork and homework.
