  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed an interest in communications during high school. I discovered that I had a natural talent for teaching communication skills and enjoyed helping my classmates grasp challenging concepts. This experience inspired me to explore private tutoring to make a positive impact on someone's academic journey.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach English and Communications, which cover a variety of fascinating topics, including grammar and verbal and nonverbal communication. I especially enjoy exploring the English language with my students, as it often leads to engaging discussions. If I had to choose between teaching English and other subjects, I would choose English! I'm not particularly strong in math.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I had a wonderful teacher named Mrs. Staley who greatly inspired me. Her passion for the subject she taught was contagious, and she had a unique ability to make even the most complex concepts easy to understand. Observing her teaching style motivated me to share my knowledge and instill a love for learning in others.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

I believe a good tutor should be patient, adaptable, and empathetic. Being able to connect with students and understand their individual learning needs is crucial for effective teaching. Additionally, a good tutor should have a strong grasp of the subject matter and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned in school was from my struggle with Calculus. After weeks of hard work and the unwavering support of a dedicated teacher, I finally grasped the concepts during a pivotal moment in class. This experience taught me the power of perseverance and the profound belief that anyone can succeed with the right guidance.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

One of the challenges I encountered in English and communication was the use of AI. It took time to grasp the ethical considerations and to figure out how AI could assist with the subjects of English, writing, and communication. Initially, I felt apprehensive, but after extensive research, I have come to see it as a valuable tool in writing when used appropriately.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I have a deep passion for teaching that is closely connected to my love for education. I enjoy helping students uncover their potential and foster their curiosity about the world.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)

I'm a Superprof because I create an engaging and supportive learning environment for my students. I tailor my lessons to their unique needs and interests, ensuring they feel confident and motivated. My commitment to helping students succeed and my passion for education set me apart as a Superprof tutor.
