About Yemisi
Hello! My name is Yemisi, and I am a certified, passionate math educator with over a decade of experience. I hold a Bachelor of Technology in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education. I currently teach in the Catholic school division and also offer personalized online tutoring for elementary, middle years, high school, first, and second year students. I am committed to helping students not only succeed in math, but truly understand and enjoy it. Whether your child is struggling or seeking enrichment, I provide engaging, structured lessons tailored to their needs. My students often say they feel more confident and less anxious about math after working with me. I look forward to supporting more learners on their journey to success!

As a certified teacher with Bachelor of Technology in Mathematics, Bachelor of Education, and Master of Education, I bring both academic depth and classroom-tested strategies to my online sessions. I use a concept-based, student-centered approach that adapts to each learner's pace and needs. My focus is based on building foundational understanding before advancing to complex concepts. I use real-life examples and visual aids to make math meaningful while providing immediate, clear feedback and positive reinforcement. For fun and learning engagement, I incorporate virtual whiteboards, digital manipulatives, and math games. My typical lesson lasts for 60 minutes as follows: - 5 min: warm-up and review of previous concepts - 15 min: introduction of new topic with guided instruction - 25 min: practice time with support - 10 min: independent problem solving - 5 min: wrap-up, Q & A, and assignment of optional practice I have over 10 years teaching in the classroom and online settings. Experience with students from grade 4 to grade 12 and first & second year students taking Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra, etc. I have proven ability to turn math-anxious students into confident problem solvers. Who I Teach: - One-on-one and small group lessons - Homework support, enrichment, exam prep, and gap closing - Lessons tailored to each student's curriculum and skill level.
