About Lily
Hi! My name is Lily, and I am an undergraduate math major who received straight As in all calculus sequences, differential equations, and linear algebra. I additionally received a perfect math score on the ACT and PSAT. I am proficient at teaching calculus, algebra, differential equations, Physics I, and AP Chemistry. I am passionate towards mathematics and excited to teach any student.
I strive to maintain a professional and friendly environment focused around an adaptive learning experience. A huge part of my struggles throughout high school came from feeling like the courses I had been taking weren't personalized to the degree I needed. Thus, I want to help people avoid that feeling. I am always open to feedback on my lessons and adapting to what makes my students learn better.
I enjoy teaching math, as I have taught high-level concepts to friends, previous students, and a fellow Directed Reading Program peer.

I can teach a variety of lower level math courses, and I specialize in calculus. My specific teaching plans revolve around a variety of practice problems and understanding how they operate through a geometric understanding. A typical one hour lesson is going to look like 15 minutes of geometric interpretation, around 30 minutes of example problems and solutions the student learns to work out, and finally a 15 minute wrap up that connects the geometry with the solution and establishes a goal for the next session.
My goal is to specifically tie in the more abstract parts of math to more grounded and physically understandable geometry. Thus, I will be taking any lower division undergraduate students or high school students. I look forward to getting to know you!
