About Samuel Izaias

Oi! Eu sou o Samuel.
I am originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, and I currently live in California.

Brazilian Portuguese is my native language. I am also fluent in Spanish and speak advanced English.

I became fluent in Spanish while living in Argentina, where I graduated in medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. I now work with research in the United States.

My medical background is not what I teach here, but living and studying across Brazil, Argentina and the United States has given me first-hand experience communicating, studying and building a life through different languages.

What I want to bring to Portuguese sessions is practical: authentic Brazilian speech, clear explanations, cultural context and a comfortable place to practice speaking without feeling that every sentence has to be perfect.

Brazilian Portuguese is the focus. Real communication is the goal.

About the lesson

Do you understand more Portuguese than you can actually speak?

Maybe you have been studying with an app, learning grammar, watching Brazilian content, or hearing Portuguese from a partner, friends or family but when someone speaks to you, you freeze or need too much time to answer.

My sessions are designed to close that gap.

We focus on Brazilian Portuguese for real conversation: speaking with less translating in your head, understanding natural spoken Portuguese, improving pronunciation, learning useful everyday expressions, and becoming more comfortable responding in real time.

This is structured conversation practice, not random chatting. We choose a useful real-life topic or situation, build the language you need for it, practice it together, and then repeat the conversation with less support.

I give clear corrections without stopping you after every sentence. At the end, you leave with a small set of useful expressions, pronunciation points and specific things to practice.
