About Allena
I am currently working on my bachelor's in the STEM field. I am also a collegiate athlete passionate about all sports and building connections with those around me. Chess, music, and reading make up my free time when I am not running. My experience as an assistant track and field coach, student tutor, and student myself has helped me understand the importance of learning the basics of a subject and building confidence over time. You can learn anything with a little consistency and understanding. My goal in working with any student is to achieve mastery and confidence in a given subject.

As a college student, I know that there isn't just one way of learning. Sometimes sitting in a classroom or listening to a lecture doesn't work for everyone. For me, I believe that students must first understand the basics of the subject, before moving on to more complicated problems. In a typical lesson, me and the student will go over a variety of terms and basic knowledge about the given problem, next, we will move on to learning and mastering the goal concept. My background as an assistant track coach and student myself has taught me that you can learn anything, it just starts at the basics and gaining understanding and knowledge. Ultimately, I can offer tutoring for Biology at the Middle and High School levels.
