About Dan
I hold MS and PhD in Quantitative Methods of Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have 8 years experience of programming in R and also other statistical software like SPSS and SAS. I have been teaching statistics for a few years in the UW-Madison. I have been also a statistical consultant there for students who needed help with their school assignments, thesis or dissertation work. I have received many good reviews including from the students who belong to the minority groups, for example who are non-white, disabled or who had learning difficulty.

1. I am respectful and approachable to students with all kinds of background, especially the students with non-mathematical background or who belong to the minority groups.
2. I provide multiple ways of explaining statistical and mathematical concepts: Verbal, visual or formal formulas. I like to use graphs or visual effect to make the difficult ideas more accessible. I like animations for example or using examples in visual art or daily life to help illustration.
3. I adapt my tutorial to individual interests. I apply statistics to the areas or topics which the students are interested in. I address students' question in a specific and helpful way.
Statistics is not only useful but can be also FUN :)
