About Oliver

I graduated the University of Cambridge with a double starred first in History in 2021. I topped Tripos in my first-year examinations and came 3rd out of c. 180 students in my university finals. I received 3 A* grades in History, English [full marks] and Mathematics as well as one A grade in French at A2 level. I have 10 A* at GCSE and an A in OCR FSMQ Additional Mathematics.

I have extensive tutoring experience running over 4 years in History, English, and Mathematics from 11-plus to A2/IB/Pre-U. Students at 11 and 13-plus have received offers from top independent schools such as Alleyn's, Dulwich College, and King’s College. I also provide Oxbridge tuition.

About the lesson

I am very much aware of the style of writing and essay structures which are required of candidates in order to achieve top marks. This includes an appreciation of changes made to the GCSE and IGCSE syllabuses, as well as of the shift from modular to linear A-levels. Students have received A* and 9 grades in their GCSE mocks, exams and other coursework.

I look forward to teaching anyone, regardless of their academic level, and I hope that my lessons will help students not only achieve their goals but also stimulate their intellectual curiosity. I believe that learning should, above all, be interactive and inclusive: my lessons are very much a back-and-forth. This is particularly true of A-level and university admissions, where individual opinion and an ability to consider a question from multiple different angles is crucial for success.
