About Lena
I am a graduate student at Stanford, studying Classics on the Latin and Greek track. I have studied Latin for twelve years and I have tutored for the past five years. I am passionate about sharing my love of Latin with students of any level and I believe that any student can excel in the beautiful and powerful language with the proper support. I decided to pursue Latin because of my wonderful Latin teacher when I was in school, and I hope to spread similar joy and enthusiasm for the language.

I work with students on an individual basis to develop a teaching style that is suited to them, implementing a variety of tools for stress-free, long-term learning. For beginning students, I focus on an integrative approach to grammar, vocabulary, basic reading comprehension, and etymology. I often use mnemonics and interactive activities to increase engagement and improve memory. For intermediate and advanced students, I believe that diving into Classical Latin texts (depending on their level) is the best way to improve Latin language skills and build vocabulary, and I use a flexible approach to choosing the genre and author best fit for students.
