About Ugwumba
I’m Ugwumba Maximilia Chiamaka. I specialize in tutoring mathematics to primary and junior secondary students.
I have experience helping students who were struggling with basics like multiplication, fractions, and algebra, and guiding them to better test scores and a stronger grasp of the subject.
I’m patient, encouraging, and skilled at explaining things in multiple ways until it clicks. My focus is not just on passing exams, but on building a foundation that will help students in higher classes too.

My core belief is that every child can be good at math with the right guidance.
I use a *step-by-step, student-centered approach*. First, I identify the student’s current level and any gaps in understanding. Then I explain concepts in simple language, using real-life examples, visuals, and analogies that younger learners can relate to.
In class we do 3 things:
1. Concept Building: Break down topics into small parts and explain the "why" behind formulas, not just the "how"
2. Guided Practice: We solve problems together so students learn the right method and reasoning
3. Independent Practice + Feedback: Students try questions on their own, and we correct mistakes immediately to prevent bad habits
I also make lessons engaging with puzzles, mental math drills, and word problems that connect math to daily life. My aim is to build logical thinking, accuracy, speed, and most importantly — confidence. No fear, no pressure, just steady progress.
