About Monica
Choosing the right tutor is about more than finding someone who knows the material—it's about finding someone who knows how to teach it- specifically to you.
I am committed to creating a supportive, structured, encouraging, and FUN learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and reaching their academic goals and most importantly: making mistakes.
I bring over two years of professional experience as a Paraeducator, working closely with students on the autism spectrum and those with a variety of learning disabilities. This experience has strengthened my ability to recognize individual learning styles, adapt instruction, and provide personalized support that helps students succeed. I have also served as a substitute special education math teacher for 4th and 6th grade classrooms, giving me firsthand experience leading instruction and helping students strengthen their mathematical understanding. #MathWithMissMorgan
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, which has equipped me with the communication skills needed to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively. Additionally, I earned above-average scores on both the Praxis 5047 (English Language Arts: Content Knowledge) and the Praxis 5002 (Elementary Education Assessment), reflecting my strong academic foundation and commitment to educational excellence.
As both an educator and a creative writer, I understand the importance of clear communication, critical thinking, and confidence in learning. Whether a student needs support with English, writing, reading comprehension, essay writing, study skills, elementary math, or homework help, I focus on helping them understand concepts—not just memorize answers.
Professionalism, patience, and respect are at the heart of every tutoring session I provide. I believe every student is capable of growth when they're given the right support, clear instruction, and an environment where they feel encouraged to learn. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become confident, independent learners who are prepared for future academic success.
If you're looking for a tutor who values communication, adapts lessons to each student's unique needs, and is genuinely invested in your progress, I would be honored to help you achieve your goals.

Learning isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither is my approach to tutoring. My goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and become independent learners by creating lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to their individual needs.
I have over two years of experience as a ParaEducator working with students receiving special education services, including children on the autism spectrum and students with a variety of learning disabilities. This experience has taught me how to adapt lessons for different learning styles while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
In addition to my work as a ParaEducator, I have served as a substitute special education math teacher for both 4th and 6th grade classrooms. I have experience teaching elementary math and middle school math, helping students strengthen foundational skills, improve problem-solving strategies, and develop confidence in mathematics.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and scored above average on both the Praxis 5047 (English Language Arts: Content Knowledge) and the Praxis 5002 (Elementary Education Assessment). My educational background, combined with my passion for language, allows me to help students improve their English, writing, reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication skills. Outside of education, I'm also known for my creative writing, which gives me a unique perspective on helping students become stronger, more confident writers.
What is Monica's Teaching Approach:
Every student learns differently, so I customize every lesson to match the student's goals, strengths, and learning style. Rather than simply giving answers, I focus on helping students understand concepts, think critically, and develop effective study skills they can use long after our tutoring sessions end.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing previous material and identifying any areas that need reinforcement. From there, we work through new concepts using clear explanations, guided practice, and interactive discussions before ending with independent practice and a summary of key takeaways. Whether we're working on homework help, preparing for a test, improving writing, or mastering math concepts, my goal is to help students gain confidence while building lasting academic skills.
What Sets Monica Apart?
My background in special education has taught me the value of patience, flexibility, and individualized instruction. I understand that no two students learn exactly alike, and I'm committed to finding teaching strategies that work for each learner. I strive to make every session positive, encouraging, and productive so students leave feeling more capable than when they started.
I don't just help students complete assignments—I teach them how to become better learners by improving organization, critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic confidence.

I worked with Monica before in a public school setting, and she always showed care, compassion, patience, and great wisdom in the students that she tutored.
