About Alison
Being a special education classroom assistant for Chicago Public Schools there are many students who endure numerous struggles aside from learning. I have broken barriers with these special students. I give respect and in turn receive it back. My students have grown multiple grade levels each year. My determination is consistent. There is nothing that a child cannot learn and I put my all into proving that. I support students even those that are not scheduled to me because I know that each child needs at least one educator who truly cares and is always available to them. Education background: I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Justice Administration earning the title of Summa Cum Laude (the highest title given to undergraduate students who graduate with a 4.0, achieved an A on every assignment, and consistently remained on the Dean's list). I am also a member of numerous Honor Societies.

Simply put: I create specific lessons for students that struggle with the basic teaching of certain subjects. I am able to explain specific concepts in ways every individual student can understand. Not every child is the same. Not every child understands the same way. I explain lessons in numerous ways until I learn how they learn. I build from there. I do not rush and encourage questions. For example, if they learn best through visuals, I create lessons including many different visuals so they have the best chance at understanding.
