Hi there!

My name is Sophia and I am a knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging tutor. I deeply care about the holistic learning of my students, helping them set up healthy study habits and nurturing curiosity and a love of learning.

I am passionate about teaching the skills that have helped me so much. I teach Philosophy, English, Spanish, public speaking skills, critical thinking and debating.

Experience and Achievements:
- Completed Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Philosophy and Spanish and Latin American Studies)
- Philosophy Honors year, awarded First Class Honors
- I achieved a 45/45 IB score (99.95 ATAR)
- Instituto Cervantes DELE Level B2 Spanish Language Diploma Qualification
- I was School Captain in Year 12 and deeply value community and service. I have extensive experience communicating with large audiences.
- I have experience teaching both 1-on-1 and group classes (of over 15 students). My students have ranged from primary to high school ages.
- I have loved being a High School Debate Coach for 4 years (2026 is my 5th year coaching).
- I have extensive experience working with kids and have worked at 6 holiday camps facilitating orchestra rehearsals.
- I have a valid Working with Children Check.

About the lesson

Grab your friends, grab your classmates and let's learn together! As well as 1-on-1 classes, I love the dynamic of group classes and am happy to travel to you in the Inner West area. I am excited to make a course that is tailored to your group needs and interests (of any age group from primary school to high school).

I also have experience music tutoring students with disabilities or special needs and am committed to supporting my students in ways which work best for them.

I am passionate about making the learning journey fun and intrinsically rewarding to help empower lifelong learners :)
