About Olivia
Hello! I’m a Modern Languages and Cultures graduate from Durham University with a passion for the Spanish language and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. During my year living and working in Spain as an English Language Assistant, I developed a deeper appreciation for language learning and the confidence it can give people.
I enjoy helping others achieve their goals, whether that’s passing an exam, preparing for travel, or simply learning a new language for fun. I know that learning a language can sometimes feel challenging, so I aim to create a relaxed, friendly, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Seeing my students grow in confidence and begin using Spanish with ease is what motivates me most as a tutor.

I believe the best way to learn a language is through engaging, supportive, and personalised lessons. I tailor each class to your goals, whether you’re a beginner, preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, improving your conversational Spanish, or studying at university.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and combine speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary using interactive activities and authentic resources. I also provide optional exercises and feedback to help you continue progressing between lessons.
I graduated from Durham University with a degree in Modern Languages and Cultures, specialising in Spanish. I also spent a year in Spain as an English Language Assistant in a secondary school and have experience providing one-to-one English tuition to a Spanish secondary school student.
My aim is to create a friendly and encouraging learning environment where you can build confidence, enjoy learning, and develop practical Spanish skills for exams, travel, work, or everyday communication.
