About Raquel
I am a singer and a writer of a novel with songs in Spanish. I have two years of experience teaching and tutoring Spanish at Louisiana State University. I achieved a total average of B with two groups of 25 students (if you have taught you would know this is hard to get! :D) with a drop-off of fewer than two students per course. I have also four years of experience giving private lessons of vocal performance, stage presence, vocal technique, and diction for all ages. I have a BA in Music - Vocal Performance (from Colombia), and an MA in Hispanic Studies from Louisiana State University.

I encourage my students to create their methods of learning with my guidance. I adapt my tutoring according to the goals, interests, and needs of every student of all ages. I focus on your target that could be academic (quizzes, oral and composition exams), professional (conversational, public speaking, formal writing skills) or vocational (creative writing); and I will help you achieve that goal with solid methods for comprehension and memorizing. I already create with my students a Flash Cards method to breakdown conjugations and pronoun agreements, and it really improves their performance in composition and oral exams. I love and I study the Hispanic culture, therefore you will learn the Spanish language with a great cultural context.
