About Alissa
I am a fun, bubbly, and outgoing 23 year old female. I am from Kentucky and have hopes to travel the world! I adore teaching children with my entire heart. A child learning to read is a GIFT, and I cherish it! I am a cat mom to a tuxedo (Syrus) and a tabby (Salem). I love to play volleyball; I have coached my little sister and students for 5 years. I love to explore, travel, and document my experiences through videos and photos. I went to college right outside of high school and actually got my first teaching job at age 19!! I taught 11 days in person before moving online due to the pandemic. What a learning experience! I ended up receiving a job at my old elementary school; where I taught for 3 years and adored it! I am now traveling in my van, exploring the United States.

Students should enjoy coming to tutoring! It should be an opportunity for the student to grow academically, ask questions, and grow curious about the subject at hand.
Using a variety of methods, tutoring sessions will allow students to feel confident and secure about their subject. Together, we will pinpoint dilemmas, areas where growth needs to appear, and strategies to implement when studying alone.
I am skilled in the science of reading, which is a phenomenal method of teaching students to read and develop decoding skills.
