About Amy
I am recent graduate of Plymouth university, where I achieved a 1st class degree in sociology. During this time I was a private tutor to 1st year students and a team member of the PALS scheme (Peer assessed learning). All the students I have taught directly have been on track for a first class grading at university, and those whom I have taught at A-level have improved by one grade in the first month.

I like to base my lessons on what the student is learning that week, so that it is fresh in there mind. My structure is half learning the content about the subject and the other half teaching how to apply that knowledge within an essay question. Additionally, I intend to give mini quizzes to the students towards the end of the lesson to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of the subject. When it comes close to the time of exams, I will help them construct mind maps (other resources they find better learning with) and run them through a mock exam.
I am able to teach any education level from GCSE to a degree.
I am an enthusiastic, hardworking and ambitious person who has developed key skills that will only further flourish when tutoring another student. I intend to enter the eduction career field, however would like to gain more experience tutoring. This would be amazing work experience and a way to develop my skills and training.
