Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching method is based on adaptive learning, active engagement, and conceptual clarity:
Adaptive Learning: I tailor each session to match the student’s pace, preferred learning style (visual, auditory, hands-on), and current level of understanding.
Active Engagement: I ask guiding questions, encourage problem-solving, and use real-world examples to help students internalize concepts rather than just memorize them.
Conceptual Clarity: I focus on building a strong foundation. I simplify complex ideas into digestible pieces, using analogies, diagrams, and step-by-step breakdowns.
I also leverage spaced repetition and retrieval practice—techniques proven to improve long-term retention.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A standard lesson usually flows like this (but is flexible depending on the student’s needs):
Warm-up (5 min):
Brief review of the previous session, key takeaways, and quick Q&A.
Objective Setting (2–3 min):
What we’re focusing on today, why it’s important, and how it connects to the broader topic.
Core Teaching (20–25 min):
Introduction of new concepts with:
Examples and analogies
Visual aids or step-by-step demonstrations
Opportunities for the student to try it themselves
Practice and Feedback (20-25 min):
Student works through problems or scenarios with guidance. I give real-time feedback, clarify misconceptions, and offer tips for tackling similar questions.
Wrap-Up and Recap (5 min):
Summary of what was learned, what to review, and what to prepare for next. If needed, I assign optional reinforcement exercises.
What Sets Me Apart
Highly Customized Approach: I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method. Every student gets a personalized experience.
Clear Communication: I explain things simply and avoid jargon unless it’s necessary
Motivational Support: I help students build confidence in their learning. I celebrate progress, not just results.
Engaging Resources: I integrate interactive tools, diagrams, and sometimes even games or simulations to keep things engaging.
