About Sony

With 5 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am a passionate violin tutor committed to helping students develop technical mastery, musical expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.

One of the highlights of my career has been helping students progress from struggling with technique, posture, or rhythm to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and interpretation.

My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expression. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a complete understanding of music.

I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to nurture confidence, build discipline, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology grounded in motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to create lessons that cultivate technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians. Each lesson is personalised to the student’s goals, abilities, and interests, balancing technical practice with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives engagement. I work with students to set achievable goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, building confidence, perseverance, and enthusiasm. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to share questions, challenges, and creative ideas freely.

Creativity is a cornerstone of my teaching. I encourage students to improvise, compose, and interpret music to develop their artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, fostering habits that support long-term success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a holistic foundation in music. My methodology ensures students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally while developing a lifelong passion for music.
