About Betsy
I am an enthusiastic mathematics tutor who is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and succeed with confidence. I have experience teaching students from various academic levels and backgrounds, including school mathematics, SAT, GCSE, IGCSE, IB, and AP preparation. My goal is to make mathematics less intimidating and more understandable through clear explanations and supportive guidance.
I believe every student can improve in maths with the right teaching approach and consistent encouragement. I focus on building strong foundational understanding while also developing logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and exam confidence. My lessons are patient, interactive, and adapted to suit each student’s individual learning style and pace.
I enjoy creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in lessons. Watching students improve their grades, gain confidence, and develop a more positive attitude towards mathematics is what motivates me most as a tutor and educator.

My mathematics lessons are designed to turn confusion into confidence and help students discover that maths can actually be enjoyable, logical, and rewarding. I focus on creating interactive and personalised lessons where students feel supported, motivated, and comfortable asking questions without fear of making mistakes.
Every student learns differently, which is why I adapt my teaching methods to match each learner’s pace, goals, and academic level. Whether you need help with school mathematics, competitive exams, SAT, GCSE, IGCSE, IB, AP, algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, or statistics, lessons are carefully structured to strengthen both understanding and performance.
I believe strong mathematical skills come from mastering concepts step by step rather than memorising formulas. During lessons, I simplify difficult topics using clear explanations, real-life examples, visual techniques, guided practice, and problem-solving strategies that make learning easier and more effective. Students also learn valuable exam techniques, time-management skills, and methods to improve accuracy under pressure.
My lessons are highly engaging and goal-oriented. I regularly track progress, identify weak areas, and provide customised exercises to ensure steady improvement. I also encourage students to think critically and independently so they become more confident in solving challenging problems on their own.
Above all, my aim is to create a positive learning experience where students not only improve their grades and test scores but also develop long-term confidence in mathematics. Many students who once struggled with maths have gone on to achieve excellent academic results and feel far more confident in their abilities after working with me.
