About EDESIA

Working with children from 2 to 10 years old in a French/English bilingual school for 4 years in London. I'm using pupils' first language to support and develop their learning and draw on their knowledge of pupils' cultural background to activate their prior knowledge in relation to French language and topic being taught. I'm supporting inclusion by facilitating participation and learning responding to pupils’ diverse learning needs, setting suitable learning challenges and overcoming barriers to learning.

About the lesson

Teaching French to children from 3 to 10 years old in a bilingual French/English school in London but can manage also to teach French to children above 10 years old. I'm very passionate about bilingualism and very proud of getting to the target: when the child who at the beginning of lesson doesn't speak or little of French can, in getting him/her very involved into it, start to improve his/her study in the new language and seems to enjoy it. According to the fact that children when having fun are more concentrated in what they're doing, can show more curiosity and interest in their learning, in such way can be more productive in learning a new language. The methodology I chose is based on fun activities such as painting, drawings, role plays using props or pictures etc. This is an opportunity to help young people learn more about a new language and use their imagination and creative skills to improve their learning. During the sessions we will concentrate in different basic topics such as "introducing itself", numbers 1-20, "how old are you?", adjectives, the months of the year, colours, the body, my family, my favourite animal, etc...
