About Redmond
Grown up on a farm in Somerset and now a vocal scholar at the Royal College of Music, Redmond is looking to teach and pass on his enjoyment of music. Having played the French Horn and Trumpet throughout his childhood, in both soloistic and orchestral/group settings Redmond has a solid understanding of both instruments. Though Redmond’s A-Levels were scientific, he decided to follow his passion and study at a Conservatoire. Here now after thorough coaching of singing technique, performing, music interpretation and music theory does he feel very well equipped to teach. A practicer of the Alexander Technique for over a decade, Redmond is very knowledgable about body use and biomechanics, particularly when applied to music and performing. This is very useful to ensure learning and practice is efficient and physically comfortable for the student. Having received offers for mechanical engineering at Russell Group Universities, Redmond is also able to tutor for science and maths up to a GCSE standard, having tutored beforehand to good success and also having done these subjects himself for A-Levels at school (where he was a physics scholar and achieved all A*s and As in all of his GCSE and A-Level examinations) and continues now to work and read on these subjects.
