As a professional Game Developer and Software Engineer I bring multiple years of professional experience in software development and game design to the table. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge with aspiring developers and helping them turn their ideas into fully functional games. My approach to tutoring game development is hands-on and tailored to each student’s needs and experience level. I use a project-based method where students work on creating real, functional games (maybe their own!) applying key concepts like game mechanics, coding, and design principles. I encourage critical thinking and creativity, helping students to solve problems as they arise in game development. I also enjoy giving advice to those that seek to enter the industry, by giving tips on how to run interviews and review portfolios.
During lessons, I break down complex topics into manageable tasks. I integrate coding practices with Unity, and game design theory to provide a comprehensive learning experience. I believe in learning by doing, so each lesson involves practical exercises and interactive discussions to deepen understanding.
Typical Lesson Length:
Each lesson lasts around 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's availability and goals. This provides ample time for both theoretical learning and practical application.
