About Kayla
I am a senior at the University of Kentucky, studying to teach middle level science and math. I have 200+hours in the classroom, as well as 3 years of summer camp experience.
I will always strive to work with my students to give them the best experience for THEM. I will treat all my students and their families with kindness and respect, and I expect my students to give their best effort in lessons. I believe that anyone is capable of learning as long as they are putting in the effort Additionally, I don’t believe that not being a “math person” or a “science person” hinders you from learning.
My ultimate goal is to nudge students toward a growth mindset, so they determine that they are capable of learning and solving problems on their own, without my help.

As a student who has been studying to teach middle school math and science, I have strong knowledge on the approach of teaching young students and encouraging them to truly learn the content on their own rather than just memorizing basic steps.
With me, students will be held to a high standard, patiently ensuring that they truly understand before moving on to the next topic.
My lessons are for K-8 students who need extra help with their science or math curriculum.
