About Robert-Jan
I am a professional game developer/tech artist with extra time on my hands, who thoroughly enjoys passing on his knowledge. Before getting into game development I studied jazz&pop saxophone at conservatoire, and I taught saxophone to students through a couple different music schools. I believe the combination of my game development and teaching experiences are perfect for tutoring all aspiring game developers.

I can teach anything from the first basics to highly technical subjects. Whether you want to learn about character controllers, shader programming, or are looking for someone to coach you through the development of your game, I'm here to help!
During our first session we'll discuss your goals and things you want to learn, and we determine a suitable approach from there. If you want to learn the basics, I'll have exercises ready to keep you busy. If you're looking for a coach, I'm ready to answer any questions about your game that you might have.
I have worked in the games industry for over a decade and hold a degree in game design & development. I have tutored several people over the years and am using superprof to turn it into something more serious.
My lessons are suitable from early teens to old age. I wouldn't recommend getting a teacher for younger children because of the critical thinking skills needed to write code and build video games. I've got experience working in a number of game engines including Unreal, Unity and Godot.
