About Vivek
I'm a secondary school Maths Teacher currently teaching year levels 8, 9, and 11 respectively. Before I transitioned into education sector, I was working in Engineering sector as a Project Manager. The reason for my transition is to offer something back to the community which helped me. Furthermore, I'm so passionate about maths, in particular crunching numbers. I'm someone who always want to apply Maths concept into our everyday setting as I find that more purposeful. I'm keen to tutor students who would want to apply the learning into their everyday life as Maths is beautiful and everywhere.
As a Teacher, I understand my tutoring obligations and my professional boundaries as I have developed a strong understanding through my teaching practice.

Catering for individual's needs is my strength and I understand from teaching a classroom of students with diverse needs. During the first lesson, I would like to do a diagnostic test which provides an informed decision on your current levels of understanding be it competent, proficient or developing. However, I would be more flexible to do a one-off session focussing on your curriculum requirements.
I explicitly model a mathematics concept and then develop your skill checking for your understanding throughout the modelling and skill development. Depending on the response, I will adjust my teaching to re-teach or move onto independent practice and provide additional scaffolding.
Typical length of my lessons could be anywhere between 40 - 45 minutes. However, I'm flexible with your requirements and we can work around the schedule. I have been working as a Maths and Physics tutor for the last two years with Kip McGrath and Cluey Learning tutoring year levels 7-12 and I can provide references if required.
