About Maya
I am an undergraduate college student at Arizona State University majoring in secondary education for mathematics. I am looking for students that I can tutor so I can get as much experience as possible. I have been a teacher assistant in Japan for an 8th-grade prealgebra class and I assisted the students whenever they needed my help. I also created lesson plans for the students and volunteered to tutor them outside of class. Throughout the school year, I had seen results in the students by their grades going up and their knowledge of prealgebra expand. I am looking forward to teaching more students and having a fun time with them!

My approach to teaching is to make it as fun as possible. I like to look at what I have to tutor ahead of time and create a lesson plan that would make the student understand the subject more but at the same time make it fun so that the information would stick to their brain. I am very patient and if my teaching does not help the student, I will always try my best to look for alternative ways to create a lesson plan that would suit the student best. I am also an artist and a musician so if the student has the same interest, I could always create lesson plans that would relate to art and music.
