About Madison
My name is Madison, and I am a first-time tutor dedicated to helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals. As a student pursuing a Bachelor of Science, I know what it takes to succeed in math, science, and English.
I believe that learning should be encouraging and not intimidating. As a kid, I struggled with learning techniques in math and sciences. Now I am pursuing these subjects as a degree, which just goes to show how much you can grow with some help. My lessons can be tailored to your preferential pace and learning style to make this learning experience as helpful as possible. No matter what we are studying for, I will be there to support you every step of the way!

My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence and fostering independent learning by teaching students how to learn, instead of feeding them answers or focusing on memorization. This helps students to tackle complex assignments on their own.
In English learning, we will utilize reading aloud and participating in active discussion to build comprehension. A typical lesson plan consists of warm up, followed by concept introduction and demonstration, and then guided practice. The lesson will end with a review and goal setting for the next week.
My lessons are for elementary, middle school, and secondary school levels. They focus on reading and writing skills and comprehension.
